Please tell me what Cognitive Hypnotherapy is?
Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses the clients own natural trance state to assist in uncovering the feelings, thoughts and memory patterns that lead to a problem and which continue to maintain it.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a versatile technique used to modify these patterns so that the client is able to control their own behaviour.
Each client’s problem, phobia or fear is formed uniquely, even when a universal label given to it is shared by many people. Consequently, each client will require different, bespoke treatment techniques; connected together by a pattern of suggestion based on their own way of thinking. This leads to a long term tailor made solution.

How much do the sessions cost?
Adults are £80 per session*
Children £70 per session*
This price includes any downloads I design for you to listen to between sessions. It also includes any materials I choose to give to you to assist with your treatment.
* please note that this price is for the entire session and not just for an hour. The very relaxed nature of the session means that they may run over 60 minutes and I would not want you to be worried about an escalating cost.
How is Cognitive Hypnotherapy different to general hypnotherapy
Classic Hypnotherapy is usually used as a ‘one-size-fits-all’ type of therapy. It uses generic scripts to assist in altering behaviour.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is flexible and moulded to the client’s specific needs. It also uses NLP techniques, Positive psychology, Gestalt and CBT to create tailor made treatment sessions especially for the individual client.
What can I expect from a Yellow Bird Cognitive Hypnotherapy session?
Firstly, I understand that it is completely normal to feel apprehensive attending your first session. Because Cognitive Hypnotherapy may be new to you I will ensure that I always answer your questions to help you feel in control and comfortable.
I will conduct sessions sensitively and at your own pace in a relaxed manor. Many clients describe Cognitive Hypnotherapy as being in a daydream, or zoning out, where they are able to feel both relaxed and yet curious. It is a subjective experience dependant on the work which we are doing. A deep trance is not always necessary for Cognitive Hypnotherapy to be effective.
At times some of my questions may challenge you and this can induce an emotional response. My intention is to find the solution that you desire and I will always put your (emotional and physical) safety first. You will be free to explore your personal issues within a confidential, safe and non-judgement environment.
During your first session we will discuss in detail the issue(s) you are seeking help with. We do this for a number of reasons; so that I can build up a picture of how you experience your problem, why you do what you do and how does it affects you. I also need to understand exactly what it is that you would like to achieve in the future and what you would also like to gain from our sessions. Knowing these very personal details allows me to tailor make the subsequent sessions unique only to you and your circumstances.
This first session may last between 60 and 90 minutes. Following sessions usually last around 60 minutes. I ensure that our sessions are relaxed so it is quite possible that they may over run slightly.
If you have any further questions please feel free to e mail me.
